Marriott Announce Combined Loyalty Program with SPG
April 16, 2018 – Marriott announces details the new combined loyalty program with Starwood (SPG). This announcement was wildly anticipated and discussed by frequent travelers and travel mavens. With rampant speculation that Marriott would gut the beloved SPG program much like the unpopular changes Hyatt’s made to their loyalty program last year.
With a collective sigh of relief, the consensus is “not as bad as feared”. Alas the devil is always in the details. TBG’s thoughts? We are Hyatt Loyalty Program refugees and are currently completing a Platinum Challenge with SPG. So, plenty of time to evaluate the changes to the program as we will have the status through next year. We will keep you posted…..
