Copa Introduces Flat Seats on New 737 MAX 9

Copa Airlines is introducing flat seats and a new economy extra section on its new 737 Max 9 aircraft. Copa has 71 of these aircraft on order.

The aircraft will feature 16 flat seats up front configured 2-2, 24 extra-room economy seats configured 3-3 with entertainment screens and 126 regular economy seats  without in seat video.  WIFI video streaming will be available.  The total seat count of 166 represents an increase in total seats over their 737-800 which have either 154 or 160 seats depending on he aircraft.

Service with the new aircraft commences on September 20 with it rotating through destinations in the USA as additional aircraft are delivered.  The first revenue flight is to be from Panama City (PTY) to Tampa (TPA).

Customers traveling in the business cabin can expect enhanced amenities, blankets/pillows and noise canceling headphones.  The move from recliner to full flat seats marks a major upgrade for Copa.  Copa is a Star Alliance member airline.
