The Air France/KLM Lounge – SFO International Terminal
The SFO Air France Lounge is located in the International Terminal of the airport. The entrance to the Lounge is on your left just after you exit security. The entrance is shared with Cathay, China Airlines, Japan Airlines and Philippine Airlines. Air France has updated hours posted on their website showing that the Lounge is now open daily 9:00am – 3:30pm and then from 5:30pm – 8:30pm. TBG visited this Lounge in April 2018.
The Lounge’s seating areas are divided into tow main sections. The first section consisting of seating only and the dining area beyond having tables and chairs. The Lounge does get busy at times as it also serves China Southern, China Eastern and Korean Air. The Lounge participates in the Priority Pass Program but does limit entry during peak hours.

The windows let in a good amount of natural light to the Lounge and afford views over the gate and tarmac area around the Terminal.

Food and Beverage offerings are adequate but not overwhelming. With the emphasis on “lite fare” and alcohol. The morning sparking wine was Willy Gisselbrecht & Fils Cremant d’Alsace Brut (retail priced around $12-$14) from Alsace. Again, adequate for mixing your own mimosas.

Water, juices and soft drinks are on offer and coffee is available on demand from the machine. The morning espresso (more than one) was very much appreciated. Since this Lounge stop was part of an overnight mileage run OGG-SFO-OGG on Alaska (Virgin America metal) with next day return via Hawaiian Airlines. The $197 RT pricing was too good to resist as was the opportunity to upgrade to first on both legs.

We must admit to having a soft spot for France and Paris one of our favorite cities. The French language papers and Air France Posters reminded us that it has been too long since we were last there.

Final Thoughts
The Priority Pass participation is welcome even though access is restricted at peak times. The Lounge despite offering an “average” experience is a welcome respite from the Terminal and the WIFI allows one to connect and catch up on some work. Maybe it is the touch of “France” that helps the experience along for the francophile in us.
